Our Diva of the Month is Jennifer Millett from Mechanicsville, VA who received a surprise box of Godiva (GO DIVA! as we like to think of it) chocolates to remind her of the sweetness in life. The Universe works in such mysterious ways. On the day of her selection, Jennifer had just returned from a harrowing time at the hospital with her 10 week old son who was having trouble breathing (he's doing much better). As any Diva who has had a loved

Spring. . . .Nature's Do Over
We would do well to take a lesson or two from baseball. Each Spring
there is a brand new season and every team starts fresh, in the
same place. How well you do THIS year determines if you will be the
champion. Every time you get up to bat is a new chance to hit a home
run. Each game ends and each new game gives you the opportunity to
win again, totally independent of your performance in the previous game.
Spring is now the new season for Divas. The slate is wiped clean and it is our first
time up to bat. Where will you start Diva? With your person, your palace, your work or your vehicle. It doesn't really matter, just
choose a place to have a fresh start. It's time for us to focus on
some tangibles in our world other than how we look for a change.
Do you have a Diva Space to call your very own? I'm going to
reclaim the back patio for myself. It's covered with winter grim,
plants that died, cushions for my wicker chairs that have seen
better days. I'm going to transform it into a beautiful garden
space with a fountain. It doesn't matter that it's tiny, it
matters that it isn't beautiful right now.
This season let's
give up fixing ourselves. Let's just relish in the wonder of
who we are. Let's eat like a slender woman eats. Let's exercise
like a healthy woman exercises. Let's share stories with each
other of grand travels we've had in our lives and rekindle old
friendships. Let's dance again, just put on the music and move
our bodies to the beat. Let's play dress up and dress down. Let's
wear make up and love our faces without it. Let's read trash
novels and inspirational works. Let's find a sister who could use
support and introduce her to her Diva self. Let's play and
have no responsibilites for one hour a day. Let's put away one dollar
a day in the Diva money jar, along with all our change for the day.
Let's sing kareoke and bake chocolate chip cookies. Let's paint
each other's toes and fingers. Let's go to bed early with
a bottle of wine and a great movie. Let's remember who we are and
how much fun we are to be with. Let's tell each other jokes and do each
other's hair. Let's wear falsh eyelashes and stuff our bras. Let's get new underwear. Let's explore the mysteries of the universe and
share secrets with our friends. Let's fall in love, plant flowers
and dreams. Let's live and delight like the fairies this spring.
Let yourself out to
play Diva. It's a brand new start with no past. Oh, what's that I hear?
It's opening day Diva and they have just announced your name and you
are walking on the field of your dreams, coming up to bat. You've made it to the big leagues Diva, you're in the Game of Life. Play Ball!
The Diva Word for the Day
is COEXIST
As a woman you are by your very nature multi-faceted. Do your many roles Coexist or Compete for your attention? Our ultimate goal is for our Diva to Coexist with all our other selves: mother, daughter, spouse, lover, friend, employee, employer, sacred spirit, community service provider and on and on. Instead of switching Hats and on occasion turning the Diva on, let's assume the internal stance of
Diva-always-present. Your Diva is your sacred spirit, the perfect form of the being you are. She holds the space for your fun, self-care, your dreams and the true woman that you are. By taking care of your Diva first you provide the juice for all your other selves to live and play in balance. Today
take 5 minutes for yourself. Take a short walk and breathe, make a wish for your heart's desire, close the door and unplug the phone, wash your face, admire your beautiful eyes or hands, anything that pulls you closer to your essence, your Diva.
